If you opt to stay at AAU, you will choose elective courses that give you 10 ECTS credits, and you will work on a project that is based on an electrical power system or a high voltage system.

The programme combines power systems analysis with: The teaching in the programme takes place in an innovative, dynamic and challenging environment through a combination of research-based courses, team-based project work, and a high degree of interaction with industrial partners and energy supply companies.

The companies take an active part in providing project proposals for the problem-oriented project work, guest lectures and visits to the companies.

The laboratories with advanced computer based measurement and control facilities allow you to perform realistic tests in the electrical power system and high voltage engineering area, with possibilities for e.g.

doing power system stability analysis and making power electronics converters and doing test in the smart grids and high voltage laboratories for instance. This semester is common to the three electrical specialisations of the Master' programme in Energy Engineering: Electrical Power Systems and High Voltage Engineering (EPSH), Power Electronics and Drives and Wind Power Systems.You and your project group describe the system and make specifications for the control or supervision system.The system should be modelled and implemented in a simulation program.You then test, verify and evaluate the implemented system and the control and/or surveillance strategies designed based on the set-up in the laboratory or real-life data.Aalborg University has collaboration agreements with universities around the world, and the programme’s research environment has a wide range of traineeship contacts.We use cookies to make interactions with our website easy and meaningful, to better understand the use of our services, and to tailor advertising.For further information, including about cookie settings, please read our Cookie Policy .This article is presented at an internal seminar (CES).* The elective courses may vary from year to year, depending on the number of students in the various specialisations, the on-going projects and the research performed at the Department of Energy Technology.You will set up and model an optimisation, control or diagnostic system, and the system must be implemented and verified experimentally in the laboratories.To practice scientific communication skills, the project’s result, or parts of it, must be published in an article written in English.
